Our Comprehensive LASIK Alternative Options

EVO ICL (Implantable Collamer Lens)
The EVO Implantable Collamer Lens is placed between the iris and natural lens to correct nearsightedness for patients ages 21-40. This 15-30 minute procedure treats one eye at a time and provides an alternative for patients who can’t or don’t want corneal refractive procedures. ICL can correct a high range of nearsightedness and astigmatism.
SMILE (Small Incision Lenticule Extraction)
As one of the latest advancements in laser vision correction, SMILE, provides clear vision through a minimally invasive procedure for patients ages 22-45+. Using a specialized laser, your surgeon creates a small, precise opening in the cornea and removes a disc-shaped lenticule to correct your vision. Benefits include rapid visual recovery, less dry eye discomfort, and the ability to return to most normal activities within 1-2 days.

PRK (Photorefractive Keratectomy)
PRK offers refractive options for patients whose thin corneas may disqualify them from LASIK or SMILE procedures. The surgeon removes the outer surface cells from the cornea before using a laser to reshape it. While PRK may involve a longer recovery time, it provides freedom from glasses and contacts. Newer technology, likely topography guided laser vision correction, can even reduce astigmatism in some keratoconus patients.
How Do I Know Which Refractive Procedure Is Right for Me?
Choosing the right refractive surgery depends on several factors, including your age, prescription strength, corneal thickness, lifestyle needs, and overall eye health. Our fellowship-trained surgeons and optometric physicians will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine your candidacy for each procedure.
During your consultation, we’ll discuss your vision goals, perform detailed measurements, and recommend the best treatment option for your unique situation. Our team takes a personalized approach to ensure you receive the most appropriate procedure for optimal results.
